Synonyms and Antonyms
DEFINITIONS
Definition of a synonym from the Collins English Dictionary & Thesaurus
1. “A word that means the same or nearly the same as another word such as bucket and pail.”
2. “A word or phrase used as another name for something, such as Hellene for a Greek.”
Definition of an antonym from the Collins English Dictionary & Thesaurus

WHERE TO FIND SYNONYMS & ANTONYMS
- A dictionary and thesaurus e.g. The Collins English Dictionary & Thesaurus
- Websites e.g. http://www.synonym.com/ which is a synonyms thesarurus with antonyms and definitions. I found this very easy to use; you just type in the word you are looking and it retrieves a list of synonyms. You will also find the antonym (the opposite) as well as definitions.
