  • A dictionary and thesaurus e.g. The Collins English Dictionary & Thesaurus
  • Websites e.g. which is a synonyms thesarurus with antonyms and definitions.  I found this very easy to use; you just type in the word you are looking and it retrieves a list of synonyms.  You will also find the antonym (the opposite) as well as definitions.
