I’ve made it to 366 days! Today is the final day of my Writing challenge and thanks to the leap year, I have an extra day to fill! I’ve been planning my final few posts for a week or so now and whilst preparing Note 357 – The approach to taking time off from your daily blog, I stumbled upon a post called Blogiversary from Take the Day off.net and it gave me the idea for the final post of my challenge (thank you). Although tomorrow is the one year anniversary of the start of My Writing Challenge, TODAY IS THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THIS BLOG – so Happy 1st Blogiversary to ‘My Writing Notebook’.
To mark the event, my girls and I made a cake yesterday (image above) and straight after posting this I am going to open a bottle of wine (image below)!
This is not the end…
As mentioned yesterday in my thank you note, it would be great if you would all still continue to follow me on my journey as a writer, whether it’s through this blog, my other blogs or one of my websites. I’ve made a list below of all the projects that I will be working on over the next year (I like point 10 the best!):
1. A Gift for Stressed & Busy Parents
This is a non-fiction book that I have written and it’s currently with the publisher; however, I will be editing and re-writing certain sections over the next month or so. Book launch – Summer 2012. I will update you with further details via this blog.
2. Tips and Luxuries blog
http://www.tipsandluxuries.com. This was my first website which has many links to books and companies that I recommend as well as the introduction to my book. I’ll be revamping the site over the next year adding lots of new tips and pages.
3. My OpenLeaf Journey blog
http://www.sandramadeira.com/OpenLeafJourney. OpenLeaf are a life coach and mentoring company as well as a publishing company. I started a blog last October to show how I discovered OpenLeaf and how I have progressed over the year. I usually try to post fortnightly. You can follow me via the blog itself (The relevant Facebook and Twitter page links are also included at the end of each OpenLeaf blog post).
4. Technorati blog
http://technorati.com/people/sandramadeira/. Technorati is a blogging platform read by millions every month. I’ve had 3 articles accepted so far and plan to post many more this year.
5. Guest posts
I haven’t submitted any guest posts before, so will look into doing this over the next year.
6. Freelance Writing Course
I took the online Daily Writing Tips course last year whilst I was doing this challenge, but couldn’t devote as much of my time to it as I would have liked. I know that this course holds the keys to making money from my writing, so I want to revisit the modules. The brilliant thing about the Daily Writing Tips course is that you have a lifetime membership to the course content and forum.
7. Company blog
I do have a blog that I contribute to at work, under the category ‘Life Skills’. I did promise to post twice a month, but have not had the time. I will pick that up again.
8. Reading other bloggers’ posts and commenting
I know there are many benefits in reading other bloggers’ posts and commenting on them. I will use the WordPress reader to catch up with all the blogs I am following and also add a few new ones. It’s all about networking after all.
9. Reading all the books I’ve accumulated over the last year
I have many books that just keep staring at me from my book shelf and around the house, not to mention the stack of magazines. I think I will devote some of my evenings and weekends to catching up with all this reading.
10. Rest and relaxation – including more time with the family
This one is not really a project, but something I have been missing out on in the last year!
So, enough to be working on then…and I don’t think I’ll be bored!
Please come back and see the new website layout over the coming weeks. There will also be further writing tips and writing progress posts added, but I won’t be committing myself to posting them daily now as my challenge is complete!
Thank you once again for your support. I made it – yeahh!
Until next time…
Sandra

Congratulations, Sandra. Well done. That was a monumental task, especially working a day job along with all that writing. You writing has to have improved, and your self-discipline muscles must have gone aerobic by now. I’m retired, but can get tired just thinking about what you accomplished. Even retired, though, I am plenty busy.
Now get some rest, will ya? You should do at least one really fun-for-you event a week. Really!
Thank you Bill – yes, I have a few fun things planned and I’m looking forward to the rest. I couldn’t stop smiling after I pressed ‘publish’ on that last post! You have been a great support throughout the year. Thanks again, Sandra
Congratulations, Sandra! You made it. Good for you.

Congratulations on a hard-won challenge! I think it’s fabulous that you celebrated your victory by making a cake and toasting yourself.
Good for you!!
