I haven’t sat at the computer and just typed for quite a while. I don’t know why this is, because I’ve had loads to write about as I’ve been studying many personal development books on the topics of parenting, clutter and time management and I have enough material but haven’t felt inspired enough to write a blog or article…until today.
So, why the change? Maybe because I’ve had some time off and spent a few days just being with the family which has allowed my mind to relax. I’ve also removed the clutter from around my desk and the space around me feels calming. The creativity is once again ignited…
Having words to work with
Today I spent the first hour of the day creating an update on My OpenLeaf Journey blog and then after a break I was able to sit back and enjoy the editing. I do love editing; making that piece more concise, more meaningful, more inspiring. It’s a completely different feeling to getting the thoughts down on paper in a random order.
The beauty of being able to cut and paste sentences and sometimes paragraphs and reshape the whole piece can really change the whole feel of the post. The big picture is still there, but the message unfolds completely different for the reader.
