Is It So Wrong To Like Being At Home More?

Swing seat

We are a family that naturally stay in anyway. We enjoy a combination of our own and each other’s company. And due to our busy jobs and school life, tend to enjoy being in the comfort of our own walls at the weekend.

Our week days are now the same as our weekends, not I terms of work-work and school-work as that’s the same, but in terms of being within these four walls. Now the weather’s nice the rest of the family have started to join me in the garden; I was the only one venturing out during the first couple of weeks.

Is it so wrong to like being at home more?

I have a passion for writing my thoughts down with a view to helping and inspiring others. These thoughts can find their way into my head as I’m doing the strangest things e.g. peeling potatoes, decluttering, showering, empty the bins and so on. Today was one of those days and I just had to stop and write. I have so much to say.

How are you finding this period of isolation in your your homes? Are you finding things to do? Are there things you need to do but can’t do?

People at the moment are unsure when this Covid-19 pandemic is going to end. Some are okay with staying at home but equally there are those who are being driven crazy by the rest of the family, or getting on better as a result of spending more time together. Then there are those who are fed up because of lack of exercise, loneliness or can’t get the food or medicines that they need. It’s a time where we all need to look out for each other. Think about who you haven’t called for a chat lately… which has reminded me… there are a few calls I need to make.

In years to come

What I do know is that in years to come we’ll all remember the friends and family that got us through lockdown with their positive, inspiring, or funny messages. We’ll remember musicians, actors, writers and comedians who are posting free videos and messages that lifted us or just made us laugh out loud.

‘The Neverending Story’ by Cookie Sweetheart is playing in my AirPods at the moment. I haven’t heard that song for ages but it seems quite relevant for this period of our lives, as we have no idea when this is going to end and in the meantime we need to carry on with our story.

Take care everyone and if you celebrate Easter – a very Happy Easter to you all.

It’s another warm and sunny day and the roast lamb cooking in the oven… what else is there to want right now.

Until next time…

About Sandra Madeira

I am a working mum and entrepreneur with a passion for writing, coaching, mentoring and inspiring others. Subjects I tend to blog about are life skills, parenting, decluttering, worklife balance, career etc. I’ve been on a decluttering mission for years creating space in my house, garden and mind. In 2020 I challenged myself to declutter every day for a whole year and write about it daily. After that success I took on a challenge to change my career from accountant to life coach, and in early 2024 set up my own company. I continue to keep up with the decluttering, and now write daily about my home life and coaching business. Have a good day! Sandra www.https://sandra@solarcoaching.co.uk
