A commonly misspelled group of words are committee, committed, committing and commitment. Notice how the word commitment has only one ’t’ whereas the other words have two; however, don’t forget that in all word forms they have two ‘m’s.
Here is a list provided by wikihow:
http://www.wikihow.com/Spell-Commonly-Misspelled-Words
A few commonly misspelled ones on the list are:
Suprise (correct spelling: surprise)
Seperate (correct spelling: separate)
Sieze (correct spelling: seize)
Vaccuum (correct spelling: vacuum)
Ukelele (correct spelling: ukulele)
Priviledge (correct spelling: privilege)
Perserverance (correct spelling: perseverance)
One shocker on the list was writting (with two ‘t’s!) – for any writers reading this, I wouldn’t have thought that any of you would have spelled it like that.
Tomorrow I will be talking about how reading can help you improve your spelling.
That’s all for today
Until tomorrow…

Hi Sandra,
First a little headsup. I couldn’t hear the sound on the video ad at the bottom of your post(?)
Second, a word I often have trouble with is “definitely.” I can easily get it wrong for some reason. Also “bureaucratic.”
Incidentally, I hope you can join us at Ali Luke’s new Writers’ Huddle. http://www.writershuddle.com/welcome
I’m looking forward to it. It’s almost fully up and running. Ali is quite busy getting it going.

Thanks for the comment. The video ad must be something that WordPress put on there as they still host the site. I think I can pay extra to take off the advertising but haven’t done so yet.
The word ‘definitely’ used to be one that I spelled wrong too.
I didn’t know about the writers’ huddle – will have to sign up. Thanks for letting me know.
