Note 321 – Learning and then teaching via your blog

English: Teaching and Learning

Whilst listening to an audio programme called ‘How to Stay Motivated’ by Zig Ziglar, I heard him say “The person who learns so they can teach is a much happier individual than the one who shows off on television talk shows and answers some of those trivia questions”.

Interesting quote!

I love learning, and then blogging about what I’ve learnt so that everyone benefits – and yes it does make me happy.  After listening to the above quote, it’s made me even more determined to continue with this theme once My Writing Challenge finishes.

But, do blogs generally go on for years?

Just stumbled upon a blog called ’20 blogs I wish were around when I started teaching’ from the site So You Want to Teach.comIt’s written by a teacher who expresses how times have changed since they were studying (some students are now asked to read and comment on blogs as part of their education).

As the blog was written 7 years ago, I had a quick look to see if any of the links are still valid and if people really do continue with blogs for that long. Interestingly all of them still exist and 15/20 of them are still posting in 2012 (and most have posts this week!).  These are incredible statistics and I feel that these teachers must be really serious about teaching.

Do you teach via your blog?  Also how long has your blog been going and how long do you anticipate it continuing?

One last little note – my blog stats have gone through the 9000 barrier today!  Do you think I’ll make it to 10000 before my challenge ends in 45 days?  Thank you everyone for your continued support…

Until tomorrow…

“Do you teach via your blog? Also how long has your blog been going and how long do you anticipate it continuing?”

Absolutely, yes. I am a lover of learning too, by temperament. In fact you could say I’m perpetually hungry to teach.

“One last little note – my blog stats have gone through the 9000 barrier today! Do you think I’ll make it to 10000 before my challenge ends in 45 days?”

It could. 9000 is impressive. I wait for that day when I’ll have near that. 1000 subscribers would, for me, be a dream come true. But I’m not a prophet, at least not the predicting kind. But even getting those excellent stats is a notable accomplishment–I would just relax, while still keeping at it, and enjoy the journey!

And Zig Ziglar is quite a guy, inspirational, motivating and a gifted speaker–not to mention insightful.

    • Thank you so much for your comment and kind words. I think Zig Ziglar is a great motivational speaker too – I’ve listened to his audiobook over and over.
Just thought that I’d mention that the link on your Twitter account took me to a wordpress site that doesn’t exist – did you know that?
Hope you are having a good day
