I apologise for not blogging for a while as all my writing time is going into the rewrite of my book Juggling Life, Kids and You. It’s going well though and I’m pleased with my progress as I’m about half way through! By taking small writing steps each day, things are moving forward a lot quicker than just thinking about doing it.
Whilst I do most of my editing on the train, I find that I can increase the amount of work I get done by varying where I write. Here is a list of my favourite writing places:
TRAIN – The 30 minutes on the train to and from work is the best time for me to focus – it’s like I’m in another world editing what I’ve written and typing new content.
CAFE – I occasionally sit in a cafe with a hot chocolate typing away. I particularly like a window seat so that I can break away from my laptop and watch the world go by.
BED – Right now I’m sitting in bed and the house is quiet. I love pouring my thoughts onto paper when I first wake up in the morning or last thing at night.
SWIMMING – Not whilst swimming! When I take my girls to their swimming lessons, I sit high up on one of the back benches to watch. I always have my notebook with me and sometimes take my laptop. I feel quite inspired to write whist also watching the girls swim of course!
SOFA – I have one of those cuddle sofas which is round in shape and can not only fit me, but also my laptop, a pile of books and a few note pads. It’s a great place to spread out with my feet up and write.
PARK BENCH – It’s been a bit cold lately, but I do find sitting on a bench in a quiet park a great place to write down my thoughts. Watching passers by and taking in nature can sometimes inspire some great blog posts.
GARDEN – What a great place to relax and write when no one is around to disturb!

Until next time
