I see cooking as a bit of a chore whereas I have a passion for writing. Today I have realised that combining the two, has created something so powerful that I am going to keep a notebook and pen in my kitchen cupboard from now on. This is going to be very productive multi-tasking.
I usually do have inspirational thoughts whilst cooking (after all, it was when I was peeling potatoes on 30th April this year that this blog idea was born) but I very seldom get out my notebook and write down my thoughts – many ideas lost there! This evening whilst pottering around in the kitchen, sentences kept popping into my head more than normal. It might have been because my batteries were recharged, having had a relaxing day with my children (away from the computer) and not thinking about work or writing at all.
In just under thirty minutes I wrote many blog notes, jotted down potential titles for blogs and brainstormed with a few mind maps (spider diagrams) – which could form the base for books, web pages or articles. When the potatoes waffels needing turning and the washing machine started beeping, I was in mid flow of a couple of ideas and my pen just couldn’t keep up with my brain.
Going forward, I will no longer have to wait until I have put my girls to bed before conjuring up some blog content – I will hopefully have already done my multi-tasking.
Please leave me a comment below and let me know if you combine writing with any other activities?
Until tomorrow…
